About Lennie Campbell

Healing memoir - Memoir about loss - Inspirational life story - Mental health journey book - Memoir of grief and recovery - Gathering the Pieces book

I’m Lennie Campbell—writer, speaker, wife, mother, and grandmother—embracing a life that’s honest, hard-won, and still unfolding. After decades of holding stories close, I finally wrote my memoir, Gathering the Pieces, as a way to honor the journey that shaped me—and to connect with others who’ve walked through loss, healing, and growth. Writing it helped me reclaim parts of myself that had long been buried under silence and survival. Sharing it, I’ve learned, is just another way of saying: You’re not alone. Each year in Hawaii, I release a floating lantern into the ocean in memory of my son and my mother—both of whom I lost in the same instant. Watching that light drift out across the water has become a ritual of healing for me. It’s a way to say: You were here. You mattered. You’re still with me.
